Has anyone recently purchased dining table recently and if so...from where (UK) I am looking for dining set that compliments a modern black and cream kitchen. I need a really light wood table with black leather/cream chairs. I dont want a smoked glass table though as I have heard you have to clean them every second of the day!

I bought a painted black dining room table last year and before I could purchase a glass top for it, the paint has been scratched / flaked in several places. What do I use on the top of my freshly painted dining room table to avoid water marks from glasses, ect....? I just painted my wood dining room table black. First I cleaned it, then I used 0000 steel wool, then I used a tack cloth, then I primed with rust-oleum painters touch gray primer/latex, then I used rust-oleum painters touch multi-purpose latex pain - gloss black, now I'm wondering if I did the right steps....and if so....do I need a top coat to prevent water stains from glasses, etc...? My husband and I are moving into our first home in 2 weeks, and I can't stop going over interior design stuff in my head! Because money will be tight, we're keeping my husbands 'bachelor' black leather couch and loveseat - and we have black wrought iron dining table/chairs with the glass round top. Now, this house has most of its space upstairs in the bedrooms -leaving the living room, dining room, and kitchen a bit small - and they're all attached in a U shape (front door enters to living room, dining room would be the bottom of the U, and the kitchen being separated from living room by the wall.) This living room is more or less a glorified hallway, so I want to make it seem more open. With these things in mind, would a light green color for the walls work well? Black couches, wrought iron, light wood floors, light wood cabinets, light wood floor moulding*maybe paint these white if do-able?* And if you think green would work well, what would be a good accent color? What are these black spots? We keep getting groups of little black spots on our dining table. I think it might be some kind of insect making them. How to protect the finish on a dining table? I bought a dining table set from Cost Plus World Market 1 year ago. It's not the most high quality furniture. The wood is stained very dark/almost black. I want to paint my formal dining room set black. Any tips? I can't afford to screw it up.? My style has changed since I bought this china cabinet, table and chairs but they are in great condition. Finishing dining table-how to tone down shine of polyurethane? I'm trying to finish my dining room table here. I sanded it down to the grain, applied a black wood stain, then put three layers of polyurethane over that. In general it looks fine now except that I don't really like how shiny the poly is. It was recommended because it would be the most water resistant. Is there anything I can apply/do to tone down the gloss? Thanks.

Need advice on area rug/curtain color for apartment living/dining area?? We are moving into a new apartment soon and I am shopping for some new things for it. I have already purchased slipcovers in a flax color for my couch and chair and we are going to get a black coffee table and black end tables and black tv stand (etc, pretty much everything else black, thank goodness I was able to compromise a different couch color!!!) Anyway, the existing carpeting is like a grayish blue color and the walls are white. I told him no more black but now I have no idea what to do about the area rug and curtains. What colors would you use in a living room with white walls, gray carpets, and a black table? I just moved into a new apartment, and am in the process of getting furniture and decorating it. The apartment has white walls, huge windows, high ceilings (think schoolhouse ceilings and windows, as it used to be a schoolhouse). It also has gray carpets. I always imagined having warm earth tone colors in my living room - so that I could have a warm, welcoming environment. So, having gray carpets posed a challenge for me, as I've never dealt with cool color tones before. I decided to get this black glass square table for the dining room, which is essentially part of the living room. It looks very sleek and contemporary. I'd like to incorporate that black into the room - perhaps creating a contemporary, yet classic and welcoming atmosphere? I don't want it to be too contemporary, and I don't want the black to be overpowering, but I would like it all to tie together. Painting a stained dining set? My parents gave me a new wood dining set, to replace the card table I was using for a dining room table. It would be very nice, if it weren't such a light stain! Other helpful details: the coffee table and end table in the living room is black and the appliances in the kitchen are cream. Any ideas?

My friends dream,i want depicted part 2? I woke up and found myself at sum1's birthday party, which took place inside a room with black walls, purple carpet and a long black dining table with black chairs,there were all these kids and other ppl sitting around drinking coffe, coke and other stuff, the place was a mess with milk and stuff spilled all over the place and the ppl were passing candles around 4 sum reasons. I ignored them and went 2 the toilet, but there were shit there and i tried 2 flush the toilet, but it didnt work 4 sum reasons so i left Then i got teleported 2 some airport/city like place with a second-hand shop or somethin.Then 4 sum reasons i had 2 climb a big white wall with pieces of round metal sticking out of it (like rock climbing how u had 2 do in camp).My family also appeared and climbed with me out of nowhere. i eventually reached the top of this huge tower More... I was about to go on it but then the ground below me cracked and i fell on a roof of a house somewhere.I went back up to the place with the giant swing, but sum1 told me that the "challenge" to go on the swing was cancelled, and then i got teleported to this place where there was a river similar to the 1 i live near. then i saw some boats and i went on them, but then some redeads (enemies from zelda games) on some other boats came 2 me and tried to attack me. I sumhow pulled out a hookshot and killed them, but then byakuya from bleach just appeared out of nowhere and told me im banned from the city I asked him why and he said im not allowed 2 assault other ppl (even tho i killed redeads which are not ppl) I then got teleported 2 a shopping center and woke up

Decorating a dining room? I want to decorate my dining,which is about 225 sq ft. The walls are white, it has a huge china cabinet, and it has like this black tower lamps in the corner, and a dining table which seats 6 people. Any suggestions? please? Style? how about classical and clean
