Each chair's cloth seat portion itself is completely sealed with a thin, transparent plastic wrap. Am I supposed to rip that plastic wrap off? I am re-doing my dining room chairs and would like to know if 5lb. density 2.5 in. memory foam would be a good choice or should I just go with medium firm 2.5 in. regular foam. We recieved very nice dining chairs, but the thin leather is damaged. How can I restore? We recieved these chairs and the wood is in good condition but the light tan leather sheats are damaged. Some scratches, marker stains, visible ware(dark spots and the grain of the leather is visible), and paint stains. None of the stains will come off more than a little bit. What can I do? How can I cover 1970's Herman Miller fiberglass dining chairs without painting them? I'm a college student living in an apartment that came with a set of the aforementiond chairs. The problem with them is that they are HIDEOUSLY yellow. My landlord says that we aren't allowed to paint them because they are fiberglass and they will chip away quickly and look even worse than they do now (if that's even possible).
