Black Dining Tables

I have a black, gray, and glass themed living/dining room, but would like some color. Any suggestions?

I'm getting a new apartment and have already bought a black leather sofa; coffee, side, and dining tables with a glass top with grey accents and steel black legs; and leather dining chairs with grey legs. Obviously I'm into the modern look, but I'd also like some colored accents. Any suggestions?

  1. Think Sea Side or Miami beach colors, blue greens or on the other side of the spectrum think coffees and moaca, it the in thing, Sage is nice to with a coffee and cream trim
  2. Silver and white would look hot! Picture frames, vases, or knick-knack things in white and silver or anything clear glass. If you really want a pop of color go with red. It's the "in" color right now. Orange too - you can do a darker burnt orange so it's more masculine.
  3. I agree with the first answer! Go with the new blue/green color. It's EVERYWHERE! It's so soothing and would be perfect to break up the grey/black color scheme you have going! Very chic!
  4. congrats on the new apartment..your contemporary taste ought not to be marred by too many colours.A knick knack or a rug or a wall hanging ..JUST ONE would bring up those exquisite modern living room of yours and for the colour is deep red.not those bright red rather a warm deep red which can also symbolises LIFE.
  5. Red Orange Teal Grasshopper green A suggestion: find a contemporary piece of framed artwork that you like with lots of bold colors in it. Take the color that stands out the most in that artwork and accent it in the rest of the room with items such as; pillows, table art, vases/pottery, flowers, area rugs.
  6. With such a monochromatic scheme you don't want too much going on. I would stick with one strong colour such as red, just to give it a lift. You could really chose any colour that is a favourite, depending on whether you want a warm or cool climate feel.
  7. red accents. pillows, throw rugs, black vase with red flowers, etc.
  8. point on walls two or three RED pin lights. find a modern/ abstract painting to hang on your wall to serve as a motif for the living room.
  9. Exotic plants or large vases from Pier One Imports will go with any decor.
  10. how about a deep red, just for an accent, like throw pillows
  11. I don't think you could go wrong with flame colors -- red, yellow, orange. With all that cold metal and leather, you need something warm.
  12. my opinion, red or cranberry looks really pretty with black and gray, also add some chrome or silver for accents for a modern look.
  13. if i can make suggestion you should paint the wall smoke gray and one wall a cranberry or a wine holla back

  15. Think seasonally, and buy accent pieces accordingly. Throw pillows, a large vase, scatter rugs, etc. add splashes of color and change the mood of the room. Red, burgundy, dark greens for winter/holidays. Pinks, yellows, pastels for spring. White, pale blue, lavender, cool colors for summer. Orange, rust, metallics for fall. Even consider entertaining pieces vs. everyday stuff. With even a small budget you can do some anazing things.
  16. Any color! Since you've got a lot of black and grey, any color will liven up the space with warmth. Try bright colors like red, or even a yellow (if you feel spontaneous) That way, with a bright color, you can accent the nice furniture you have. Hope this helps. ;o)
  17. A deep red would look nice, but only paint the largest wall with the red you pick then stick with a white to cream color for the rest of the walls. You could even drag the colors into the kitchen and use a bright red and yellow sunflower pattern.
  18. I think that reds and burgundys go nicely with the cooler colors of black and chrome.
